Recently, the General Office of the Ministry of Education issued the "Notice on Announcement of the First Batch of New Liberal Arts Research and Reform Practice Projects" ，and the item "Accounting Professional Upgrade Innovation and Practice in the New Era" declared by Accounting College, was approved by the Ministry of Education for the first group of new liberal arts research and reform practice projects, achieving zero breakthrough in the college's national teaching education reform projects. It is also the only approved new liberal arts research and reform practice project in accounting subject among universities in Hubei Province.

This project is an important reform project after Accounting College being approved as a national first-class in accounting major in 2020. In recent years, Accounting College attached great importance to the research and construction of new liberal arts, relied on the school’s advantages in the coordinated development of multidisciplinary, and upgraded the training mode of traditional accounting. Then, a new system for training accounting talents is formed under the background of the new era of "ideological and political leadership, accounting-oriented, digital intelligence embedded, and cross-integration".

Accounting College will use this new liberal arts research and reform practice project as an opportunity to focus on strengthening value guidance, promoting professional optimization, consolidating the curriculum system, promoting mode innovation, building quality culture, then continuously optimizing and upgrading the personnel training mode, solidly promoting the education and teaching reform, and cultivating applied and compounding liberal arts talents that meet the requirements of new era.
